After 8 Mums Date on Piccadilly: Newly Opened Posh Pudding Parlour in the Athenaeum Hotel, Mayfair
Last week I had the good fortune to take a peek at the setting of a Mayfair’s latest trend for dining: the posh “Pudding Parlour” located in the Garden Room of the opulent Athenaeum Hotel on Piccadilly. This is ideal for Central London parents who can sneak out after bedtime and have a special treat without breaking the bank. Further, The Athenaeum is one of the few remaining family run, upscale, independent hotels in London.
My gripe around going out, explained in great detail here, is, among other things, that I have to eat with the kids at 5:30 as I am hungry, and go out to eat again at 8:00 is somewhat a waste as I am full and don’t need the expensive calories. My kids are too young and I am too much of a pushover to have someone else put them to bed. I am too old and wake up too early to go out just for drinks, but the Pudding Parlour seems to be the perfect solution.
You can put your heels on and soak up the elegant ambiance of Mayfair at The Athenaeum Hotel; enjoy a glass of wine and a plate of pastries freshly prepared that day by their pastry chef for £15, if you skip the wine its £10!! A pint and a bowl of chips will cost you that. What a great night out!! Meet up with friends, with the , with the fundraising committe and chat over wine and pudding or, ideally, with your partner for a cheap date in a posh hotel.
The Pudding Parlour: Monday – Friday 8pm – 11pm; Saturdays 9pm-11pm. Closed Sundays. The Athenaeum, 116 Piccadilly, W1J 7BJ. 020 7499 3464
