Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Maternity Ward and Paediatric A & E - Threat of Closure
Tuesday 11th September Kensington Town Hall: Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Maternity Ward and Paediatric A & E - Threat of Closure
The NHS has released a review of their health services in Northwest London and proposed substantial changes to how and where healthcare is provided throughout Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Ealing and Hounslow. You can download and read the consultation here.
Of most concern to London-baby readers is the debate between keeping Chelsea and Westminster as a designated “major hospital” with a maternity ward and A and E or changing it to a “local hospital” that will offer acute care 24 hours, but no maternity ward and leaving central London without a paediatric A and E.
In the current austere climate of slashing and cutting budgets, those of us dependent on the NHS need to engage and learn why Westminster may be left without a paediatric A and E and only one maternity unit (St. Mary’s).
There will be a clinic held at 6:30pm on Tuesday 11th September at Kensington Town Hall. Come and learn what is happening to this integral part of life family life Chelsea and Westminster. The event is being held at Kensington Town Hall (located on Horton Street, just off Kensington High Street, close to High Street Kensington Underground).
Please take one minute to complete this form and have your name signed on the petition to keep Chelsea and Westminster as a major hospital.
