Family Events Saturday 15th December:
Chelsea Theatre: The Way Back Home. Come join the Big Wooden Horse children’s theatre company for this adaptation of Oliver Jeffers cherished book. This is aimed for children 7 and under. Running throughout December, but showing today at 10:30. £8
Kids Club, Saturdays at Gate Picturehouse: Winnie the Pooh (U) From 10am Saturdays they have activities, then watch the flick at 10:30. £4 to join the Kids Club, but then tickets are £1 after, popcorn and juice for the kids £2. Read more about the day out here.
Electric Cinema, Kid’s Club: Nativity, 10am. Check out the newly refurbished Electric Cinema with its plush, red velvet beds, sofas and armchairs. Looks like a great way for Dad to occupy the kids on a Saturday morning. Tickets £8 per person
Garden Museum Family Event: Make a Snow Globe. Make a snow globe at the Garden Museum, just next to Lambeth Palace. Entrance to the museum is free for participating families and the event is for children age 2+. Join in from 11am-12:30 or from 1:30-3:00pm
National Portrait Gallery Horrible Histories: Come and be entertained by the actors from the West End show in full costume with their hilarious improve and then make a craft after. From 1-4pm, free, all ages
Coin Street Christmas Bazaar: Create, listen, eat, and dance. Make crafts, listen to music, visit Father Christmas and have a chance at the tombola and raffle. Money raised will help the Coin Street Family and Children’s Centre. Tickets £3 at the door, from noon -3pm
Forge Arts Venue: Children’s Storytelling with Music. This week is Julia Donaldson’s Stick Man. Bring the kids to enjoy old-fashioned storytelling, augmented with music. A great way to spend a Saturday morning. 10:30am, £6 online, £7 at the door, adults free.
Family Events Sunday 16th December
Camden Arts Centre, Family Make and Do Sundays. Artist Erica Scourti will lead a workshop exploring the Film in Space exhibition by leading children in the creation of a flip-book. Free, drop-in.
Baby Rave “Acoustic Sessions” at Pirate Castle Camden. Finally, a chance to see a live gig when I am still awake and I don’t have to shell out for a sitter!! Bring the kids for a chilled late afternoon of fold music with soul-full up and coming, highly praised Blanche Ellis and Tom Price Stephens. £3 for kids, £6 for adults (which includes a glass of beer or mulled wine), 3:45 – 5:15, infants and children 8 and under.

Electric Scream, Electric Cinema Notting Hill. Tuesdays, 11am. You and your infant can enjoy the sumptuous, newly refurbished, Electric Cinema on Portobello Road. £15.50 per adult, babies free. Grab your new mates from baby group and book a sofa or just show up on your own and watch It’s a Wonderful Life (James Stewart and Donna Reed in this 1946 classic)
Babies and Toddlers:
Bach to Baby, St. John’s Wood. Join Bach to Baby for a Christmas concert and join in singing carols around the piano after. ST. Mark’s Church, Hamilton Terrace. All ages, (particularly nice for infants) 10:30am, £10 per adult, children free.
Forge Arts Venue Imagination Station: A fantastic sensory movement and music session for infants from 4 months to toddlers 2 years. At the amazingly family-friendly Forge Arts Venue, The Foundry is a fabulous post-class gathering place for mums and coffee. Wednesday 19th December, 10:15 – 11:00. Tickets £5 in advance, £7 at the door
Monkey Music Notting Hill: Come join the award winning Monkey Music Notting Hill team for some quality music time for infants, babies, crawlers, cruisers, toddlers and pre schoolers. Classes held at several prime Notting Hill, Paddington and Kensington locations: St. Stephen’s Church, Westbourne Park W2; 12 Philmore Walk (under the Kensington Library) W8; 112 Palace Gardens, W8; The Club Room on Portobello Road, W11.
