Shutter and Sketch: London’s Only Bespoke Children’s Portrait Artist. Family Events Saturday 8th December:
Wigmore Hall, Cavatina Concert. Come for an hour of superb music performance and participate in music making. The Lawson Trio (Sophie Daveman, Soprano; Adam Wynter, double bassist; Jon Thorne, violinist) will put on a performance and then families will regroup to make a bit of their own music. A fabulous London family morning. Ages 5+, 11am-noon, adults £7, Children £5
Chelsea Theatre: The Way Back Home. Come join the Big Wooden Horse children’s theatre company for this adaptation of Oliver Jeffers cherished book. This is aimed for children 7 and under. Running throughout December, but showing today at 10:30. £8
Habitat: Children’s Christmas Worksop: Come and create gorgeous, festive seasonal decorations at Habitat, London families favourite furniture shop on the King’s Road. From 11am – 1pm, drop in and make MiStar; from 2-4pm create your own blizzard jar. Free, all ages.
Cadogan Hall: Crash, Bang Wallop: listen to London Sinfonia play music from the Nutcracker, sing along carols and an appearance from Father Christmas, himself!!! All ages, concert from noon. Adults £8, children £6, family £24
St. Martin-in-the-Field, Mini-Maestro Family Concert: Join London Musical Arts Orchestra and their charismatic presenter John Landon for an hour of Christmas themes. You can pop into Covent Garden, see the Trafalgar Square Norwegian Christmas tree, head over to Fortnum and Mason for a decadent family ice cream … the pre/post Christmassy options are endless. Children are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate in the concert. 4:00-5:00pm, £8.50 for adults, £6.50 children. All ages

Royal Academy of Art: Festive Prints Family Art Workshop: Create your own festive card using a variety of printing techniques. Free, drop-in, 11am-2pm. All ages welcome
Royal College of Music: Orchestra in a Day. For instrument students, grade 5 and above (ages 7-11), come and join Royal College Musicians and be part of the orchestra for a day. Rehearse for a mini concert and perform for your family and friends!! Tickets £12
Wallace Collection: Chanukah, Festival of Lights. Explore the Wallace Collection and take a special look at the candles, candle holders, candelabras in the collection. Big Scream Gate Cinema: Located just up the steps for the Notting Hill Gate Underground, the historic and charming Gate Cinema puts on a fabulous baby cinema each week. Come on your own or with friends, there’s low lighting, changing tables and coffee … great way to brighten up the doldrums of sleepless nights and feedings. For infants under 1 year old, tickets £8, Tuesday 11th December, 10:30am. This week’s screening: Seven Psychopaths, Collin Farrell, Woody Harrelson and Christopher Walken.
Babies and Toddlers:
Bach to Baby, Notting Hill. Join Bach to Baby for a Christmas concert and join in singing carols around the piano after. All ages, (particularly nice for infants) 10:30am, £10 per adult, children free.
Forge Arts Venue Imagination Station: A fantastic sensory movement and music session for infants from 4 months to toddlers 2 years. At the amazingly family-friendly Forge Arts Venue, The Foundry is a fabulous post-class gathering place for mums and coffee. Wednesday 12th December, 10:15 – 11:00. Monkey Music Notting Hill: Come join the award winning Monkey Music Notting Hill team for some quality music time for infants, babies, crawlers, cruisers, toddlers and pre schoolers. Classes held at several prime Notting Hill, Paddington and Kensington locations: St. Stephen’s Church, Westbourne Park W2; 12 Philmore Walk (under the Kensington Library) W8; 112 Palace Gardens, W8; The Club Room on Portobello Road, W11.
