The mummy shopper

The mention of the word ‘shopping’ can sometimes have an association with the word ‘hobby’. Nothing provides excitement and maybe even a stress release like an extensive shopping spree that ideally results in one or more bargains or the satisfactory sensation of having treated oneself to something new. However, London is almost an invitation to long and extensive shopping tours. From the more expensive designer shops on Bond Street and Mayfair to the more affordable shopping options on Oxford Street and Kensington High Street. Somewhat off the beaten path, yet still quite popular, especially with young people is Camden Market, famous for its huge selection of original crafts and clothing.

The horrors of shopping

While shopping can be an exciting and a fun activity for some, it can also be a stressful burden or duty for others. The latter can sometimes be the case for new mothers who have to juggle around more than just a handbag. As if the daily household routine wasn’t enough, having to brace the crowds and shop can be a time-consuming undertaking, especially in a city like London. While some attractions and events are certainly worth a trip into the city as a family, having to navigate through crowded streets and endless hordes of leisure shoppers not only costs time but also dampens the spirits or any desire for future shopping tours. As we all know - if it turns into an obligation, it is very likely to become less enjoyable. Even more so when you need to take into account the needs of a young one. Whilst children brighten up our lives and are a blessing, the thought of shopping in an antique store for example can conjure beads of sweat.

The solution for stressed mothers

As with a lot of things in today’s day and age, the internet has made things a lot more convenient, making it easier to shop for clothes - even for the kids. Online shopping takes the stress out of buying clothes and makes it a convenient and quick task. Clothing for children for instance is easily available on the kids section of Zalando’s online shop. And after having bought new clothes for the younger ones, why not treat yourself to something nice, like a new dress for instance? It’s a pretty family-friendly site with styles and sections for almost everyone (there’s even a maternity section!).While on Zalando, the perfect top might just be a click away, since women’s clothing choice at Zalando offers a wide variety of clothes, the perfect chance to set the suppressed shopping enthusiast free again, all in the comfort of the own home.
