Shhhh… Screen Time Secret – Nursery Rhymes TV YouTube Channel
sponsored post
Two of my many guilty secrets: 1.) I use screen time to occupy my children so that I can complete household chores without either one of them getting harmed. 2.) I often get lost with the words in nursery rhymes.
Guess what I recently discovered? A YouTube channel filled with all our favourite nursery rhymes. Nursery Rhymes TV features beautifully recorded traditional nursery rhymes with quality animations. This is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to keep toddlers and older children engaged while you quickly zip though the cooking/ironing/unpacking the groceries/folding the laundry/argue with your partner … or just have a glass of wine and stare at the wall.
My kids (and their friends’ younger siblings) are genuinely entertained by these lovely videos. My son will sit engrossed, singing right along. I can join in when in ear shot and relearn the tune to Big Red Bus. There are a good variety of educational songs promoting letter and number learning. Further, they have a series of entertaining videos showing various instruments, how they are played and how they sound. For older children, there are karaoke sing-alongs, putting a literacy element into the mix.
If you subscribe to NRTV, you can bring it up easily when you need to take a call or get dinner on. Very handy, guilt-free screen time for your family.
