Clip N Climb - Chelsea
I took my two kids to the best indoor activity that we have been to in ages - Clip N Climb in Chelsea (10 minute walk from Fulham Broadway). What a brilliant afternoon we all had.
Clip N Climb is a series of climbing walls that you climb up whilst harnessed into a safety belt. This belt is connected to a line attached to a mechanism above that slowly releases the climber to descend in a controlled, safe but still fun and exciting way. There are 22 different walls to climb, all with varying difficulties and challenges. Adults can climb alongside their kids, they can also join them for guidance and support (and not pay to climb).
The sessions are 90 minutes long, this includes 30 minutes of fitting and instruction time. The rules are easy to follow, and the kids have a good understanding of the few safety rules and how to use the harness and the line.
My kids had so much fun, they were sweating and exhausted after, each of them having climbed their little hearts out for 45 minutes all in. That was just enough time for my 9 and 6 year olds to try everything out, master some difficult bits and need a break. They would like to take their father their for Father’s Day (not a terrible idea).
If you are bringing little ones, there is room for pushchairs in the reception (and it is fully monitored). There is a simple cafe with coffees, cakes, sandwiches and highchairs. There are changing facilities in the toilets, but the climbing is for children over minimally 4 years old.
Sessions cost £14 for the under 15s, and £19 for anyone over 15, prices for Clip N Climb Chelsea are here. I do have to warn, there was a LOT of Bon Jovi playing when we were there…
