Babyccino Kids Shop Up: Head over to Chelsea Old Town Hall on Sunday 4th December from 1-6:30pm and Monday 5th December from 9:30-5pm for a fabulous afternoon of shopping and children’s entertainment.  The venders have unique and beautiful gifts at a very good price point.  Last year I scored a table-top ping-pong set, a charming stationary set, met local family photographers and other business owners.  An added bonus, there are children’s activities to help keep the little ones amused while you shop, including music from the fabulously family friendly Wilford Social  (do check them out as they have family gigs across London)  All ages, free entry.  unknown

St. Martin in the Fields, Family Christmas Concert with Audience Carols:  Saturday, 4pm.  Join John Landor and the LMA Orchestra for excerpts from Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli and then sing popular Christmas Carols. Tickets £7 adults, £5 children.


Midori House, The Monacle Christmas Market: Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm.  Head to Midori house for reindeer petting, father Christmas, meet Monochan the owl, music and more.  Entry is free, donation are warmly welcomed for the Committee to Protect Journalists.


Belgravia Christmas Sunday: Sunday 11am-5pm: Soak up the season with brass bands, reindeer, choirs, children’s entertainment and great handmade craft and boutique market stalls.

Picks for Slightly Older Kids and Their Younger Siblings: 


Museum of Comedy, Magic Show and Workshops: Take the kids to Bloomsbury this weekend and watch a great magic show (tickets £12.50 adult, £7.50 child, £35 family) or … book the kids into a 90 magic workshop for £15 and knock out some Christmas shopping.


The Dogstar, Crafty Fox Market:  Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm.  Head to The Dogstar on Coldharbour Lane for an independent designer/maker Christmas market.  There will be craft workshops held including weaving and screen printing.  Fair is free, workshops under £10.


Southbank, Circus Weekend: Saturday and Sunday.  Bring the kids to take part in a variety of workshops teaching acrobalance, scarf juggling and other circus skills and circus crafts.  Free, all ages.


Kensington Palace, Lantern Making: Saturday 10-3pm. Enjoy the sumptuous setting while your kids make a beautiful later to take home.  Admission is £16.50 for one adult annual pass, children are free.


Hackney Empire, Sleeping Beauty: Splurge and take the kids to a fabulously valued panto (tickets start at £10) and enjoy a day out in Hackney.  The theatre is beautiful and I can strongly recommend near-by Violet Cakes cafe as a pre theatre tea and cake venue.

Chelsea Theatre, Little Red Riding Hood: 30th November – 24 December.  its Christmas Eve at Grandma’s house and what a big wardrobe Grandma’s got… come to the theatre in your pyjamas, slippers and enjoy a tale packed with special pies, smelly fur coats and donuts.  Ages 4+, £9

Wallace Collection, Little Draw: Sunday 1:30-4pm.  Join Luisa Rivera for a drawing quest workshop that explores folk culture, hotrod and storytelling.  Free, all ages.

Whitechapel Gallery Crib Notes, William Kentridge.  Wednesday December 3rd 10-noon.  Join Sofia Victorino and children under 3 for a tour and talk of the delightful artwork of William Kentridge.

Pimlico Toy Library: Pimlico Toy Library has a new web site showcasing all their wonderful children’s workshops and baby playtimes.  This is a fantastic resource for any parent or carer, the toys are fastidiously cleaned and the art workshops are brilliantly planned with high quality materials.
