This Weekend for the Entire Family:


Trafalgar Square, Canada Day: Saturday noon-8pm.  Celebrate 150 years of Canada with music, family activities, food, art, performance and more.  Free, all ages.

JW3, Hampstead Beach: Sunday 2nd July, 9-10:30pm.  Make your way to Hampstead and hang out on a golden sands beach complete with great food and drink.  Free, all ages.


St. George’s Square, Southwest Fest: Saturday 1st July noon-6pm.  Head to Pimlico for a great day of fun fair rides, food, two stages for entertainment, loads of family activities and fun.  Free, all ages.

For Older Kids and Perhaps their Younger Siblings 


V&A, John Madejski Garden, Create Your Own Doodle Bug: Sunday noon-3:45.  Head over to the V & A and make your own machine that will scribble a masterpiece for you.  For ages 7+, free … also take the opportunity to enjoy Yung Ho Chang’s exhibit in the courtyard and the grand opening of the Exhibition Road Quarter.

Somerset House, Marty the Mighty Nose: Saturday noon-3pm.  Head Seamen’s Hall and interact with the Perfume exhibition in a playful, hands-on experience.  Free, ages 5+.


Wigmore Hall Family Day, Museum of Music: Saturday 10:30.  Head to Marylebone for a great day of music.  Ages 5+, adults £15, children £10.

Family Cinema 

Regent Street Cinema, Kino Club Films : You can now bring your children to London’s beautifully restored, sumptuous cinema for screenings of better than average children’s films on Saturdays. This week’s screening: Minions. 11:30am, just £1.75.

BFI Families: Sunday 1pm.  Stuart Little with Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie. Tickets £8.

Framed Film Club:  Head to the Barbican for the Framed Film Club, this week’s feature: Box of Delights Shorts Programme.  Saturday 11am.

Gate Picturehouse, Kids Club: This week’s programme: Smurfs: The Lost Village, 10:30. Tickets just  £1 with £4 membership, popcorn and juice £2. (best £3 you will ever spend on a rainy Saturday)

Ritzy Picturehouse, Kids Club: Sunday 10:30.  This Week’s screening: Smurfs: The Lost Village.

Electric Cinema, Kid’s Club: This week’s feature, Moomins on the Riviera.   Saturday 9:30am. Check out the Electric Cinema with its plush, red velvet beds, sofas and armchairs. Looks like a great way for Dad to occupy the kids on a Saturday morning.
