Top Ten Halloween Activities and Events for Kids in London
The light is fading, evenings are chilly and it is a great time to wander into London and take part in some creatively spooky activities. I have read them all and found this list of interesting and curious diversions.
London Canal Museum Halloween Experience: Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th. Take a narrowboat ride through Islington Tunnel, there will be ghost stories, face painting, treasure hunt, sweets and more. Adults over 16 £12, children under 15 £9 (even babes in arms), whole boat, 12 places £110. Check site for exact times and activities.
Dickens Museum, A Halloween Special: Tuesday 26th, 6pm. Head to Dickens Museum for atmospheric storytelling, card reading, fortune telling, magic and a candle lit bar.
Electric Cinema, The Addams Family and Halloween Party: Saturday 29th, 9:30am. Head over to Notting Hill, sit back in the luxurious comfort of the Electric and enjoy The Addams Family with the kids. Booking required.
The Spaniards Inn, Halloween Dog Walk: Sunday 29th, 11am. Head to Hampstead with the dogs and the kids for a fundraising walk and then fancy dress show, goodies, stalls and lots of fun at a FANTASTIC pub.
Kings Cross Halloween Parade and Party: Tuesday 31st, 6pm-8pm. Bring your scariest costume to the Bird Cage at King’s Cross for a ghoulish light parade to Granary Square and then join in the after party with magicians, circus performers, stalls and more. Free, all ages.
Day of the Dead Festival, Family Day at the Vaults: Saturday 4th November, 1pm Head to Vauxhall for this fantastic Mexican tradition of music, workshops, food from Wahaca, art and fun including a Big Fish Little Fish dance floor and a screening of the Book of Life. This even will raise funds to support the victims of the Mexican earthquake.
Baby Loves Disco Big Halloween Bash: Sunday 29th 1-3pm and 3:30-5:30. Head to Carnaby Zebrano (on Ganton Street) for a baby and kid-friendly disco. Come in full costume to fully embrace Halloween.
Carnaby Street Fright Night: Thursday 26th 5-9pm. Head over to Newburgh Quarter in fancy dress, wander in and out of the shops with their Halloween themed activities and sundries.
Science Museum, Little Lab of Horrors: Saturday 21st - Sunday 29th 11:30, 12:45, 2:15 and 3:30. Take the kids to The Theatre, near The Garden, for a 30 minutes show that explores some very spooky objects and scary science.
Halloween at Ham House: Saturday 21st - Sunday 29th. Take the kids to Ham House for biscuit decorating, visit the servant’s quarters and make your own witch’s hat, listen to spooky stories and enjoy the grounds and the house. Check the web site for exact dates and times for various activities.
