London Weekend Family Events for the Entire Family
Ruskin Park Summer Fete: Saturday 1pm-6pm. A proper British summer fete including donkey rides, flying trapeze drop-in sessions, art workshops, live music, food and more.
Trafalgar Square, Eid Festival: Saturday noon-6pm. Celebrate the end of Ramadan with music, dance and other performances plus family activities and food stalls. Free, all ages.
Battersea Power Station, The London Seafood Festival, Saturday and Sunday. Head over for a variety of family events including live music, cooking demonstrations, art workshops, face painting, biscuit decorating, balloon art and more.
Seven Dials Soundtrack: Saturday noon-6pm. A free music festival with Seven Dials pedestrianised so you can bring the kids, listen to music, watch performances, eat street food and soak up some atmosphere. Free, all ages.
V and A, Pop-Up Performances: Saturday 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Part of Refugee Week 2018, bring the kids to The Jameel Gallery to watch unique performances created by families who explore themes of war and peace. Free, all ages, drop-in.
Wild Child Festival, Dulwich 17th-19th August. Get a limited release of early bird tickets now, for just £21.50 … before they run out. Wild Child Festival is a new London family festival that focuses on the arts, creative play and wellbeing for families with children under 12. This festival will have some of the best providers including Baby Broadway and Mama Codes, of quality children’s workshops, entertainment, yoga and more. Making, doing, thinking, movement and performance this weekend
Rich Mix, Vanessa Wolf: Make a Story - Wild Women and Rebel Girls: Sunday 11am, 1pm and 2pm. Join the amazing storyteller, Vanessa Wolf, for a colourful interactive storytelling and story-making session based on the them of Wild Women and Rebel Girls. Bring an object that you would like included in the a story. Free, booking required, ages 4-11.
Royal Academy, Manifesto Workshop: Saturday noon-3pm. Take the kids to see the Summer Exhibition and then take them to this workshop led by Raju Rage to write their own artist manifestos. Free, drop-in, good for over 5s, but all ages welcome.
The Other Place, Baby Broadway, Saturday 23rd June at 11am. Sing along to Motown, My Fair Lady, The Lion King, Billy Elliot, Frozen and more … then bring the family to Baby Broadway. Tickets prices: £12.50 (for adult and baby), £10 (adults only), £6 (children over 12 months), free (babies under 12 months). If you mention BBLBK1 (Baby Broadway London Baby Kids) you receive a discount on the adult and baby ticket, making it just £11.50.
The Old Library, Theatre Delicatessen, Beyond Borders Festival: Saturday. Head to The Old Library and see The Runner. Nina and her brother, seeking refuge from their home, make an epic journey to safety. Told with puppetry, live music and storytelling. Tickets £22
Imperial War Museum, Cinderella: Saturday, 11am-5pm. Take the kids to the IWM for an immersive Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella investigation. Watch performances and chat with evacuees. Free, all ages.
Design Museum, Create and Make: Sunday 11am-4pm. Make it a super-Sunday of art and fun - check out Frida Escobedo’s Serpentine Pavilion, Christo Vladimiro’s floating Mastaba, cool off in the Princess Diana Fountain and then head to the Design Museum for a drop-in art session. Ages 5-11, free.
Leighton House Museum, Summer Kites Workshop: Saturday 2:30-4pm. Take inspiration from the ceramic collection in the Leighton House Museum with professional artist and kite maker, Kirsten Lyle. Learn about kite flying cultures and create your own unique kite to take out and fly. Age 5+. tickets £3, booking required.
Institute Francais, Game Lab: Saturday, 2:30pm.Book your kids into these fantastic recreational and instructional digital sessions. This week kids will explore Child of Light and Botanicula. Free, ages 6-12, booking required.

Royal Albert Hall, Storytelling and Music Sessions: bring children ages 0-4 to Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday for a magical experience with storytellers Paul Rubinstein, Becky Dixton and Samantha Sutherland where singing, storytelling and musical instruments are woven into one story session. £4, 11:30am
National Gallery, Welcome Wednesdays: Wednesdays 10:30-11:15. Bring children 16 months to 5 years to the National Gallery for Dance Adventures with Olivia Armstrong. Age 16 months – 5 years, tickets £5 per child.
Pimlico Toy Library: Bring the kids to the Toy Library for play sessions and toy lending. Fantastic resource for anyone in the area.
Electric Cinema, Electric Scream: Mondays 11am. This week’s feature: Ocean’s 8: Lean on Pete. Bring babies under 12 months to this amazingly plush cinema, relax with some coffee and catch a flick.
