Babies and small children are divided into age specific classes from 3 months all the way up to 4 years old, supporting each stage of learning and development as a little musician as they journey through the Monkey Music curricula. Many Monkey Music families stay throughout the course of all their children’s pre-school years; Jayne and her team has diligently built up a reputation as the ‘must do’ activity with thousands of lovely local families.
The specialist curriculum has been designed to stimulate the 3 key areas, physical, language and social aspects of your baby’s development. Through singing, cuddling, rocking, dancing, talking and clapping you can encourage the pathways of your baby’s brain to make new connections, playing an important part in the future emotional and intellectual development of your child. You will make friends and acquaintances while your child starts their foundation in music education.
Rock “n” Roll babies from 3 months, use your singing voice and Monkey’s gentle songs composed especially for this special time, baby begins their journey into understanding melody, crescendo, pulse and tone. Jayne and her team create beautiful and CLEAN props for your baby to reach and grasp for with the music. Bubbles, percussion, props, games and more make this class enjoyable for all.
Heigh-Ho toddler from 12 months, music and language come together in this next phase as Monkey Music focuses on language development. The colourful props and repeated actions are used in tandem with the singing to aid visual memory. Toddlers further their study of melody, pulse and rhythm through songs, games, dancing and with their instruments.
Jiggety-Jig 2&3 yrs music classes, support all aspects of your child’s musical, social, language and physical development, concentrating on exploring basic music theory, finding the beat, playing quietly and loudly, quickly and slowly and whilst having lots of fun at the same time! Expect wonderful puppets and props, parachutes, games, activities, individual percussion sets, full interaction with the same teacher each week and of course lots of bubbles…
Ding-Dong 3&4 yrs music classes Monkey Music offers a super class for 3-4 yr olds that teaches your child to read music, sol-fa tonal hand signs and learn about (and try!) all the instruments of the orchestra and te sol-fa tonal hand signs. The classes provide the with the best possible platform from which to go on and learn a musical instrument at school. It’s a unique class, something which is not available on your little one’s nursery curriculum, and the educational benefits are enormous, reading and writing skills are hugely enhanced as well as co- ordination skills and social skills, it’s so much fun too!
