Playgrounds in Kensington
Holland Park
Entering off High Street Kensington, near the junction of Earl’s Court Road, you walk under a great canopy of trees and look onto a large, but unimpressive playing field … keep walking. This is one of the most romantic and treasure-filled parks in London. There is an outdoor amphitheatre, manicured gardens, a Koi pond and waterfall in the Japanese Gardens, lovely wooded areas, meadows and peacocks! For small children, there are two lovely playgrounds. First near the top of the playing fields is a large sandy area with climbing frames, swings and picnic tables. There are toilets; picnic tables and a nice snack stand a short walk to this area. Further into the park is an amazing adventure playground that any adult would want to turn into circuit’s course, but it is sadly just for older children. There are covered picnic tables and a snack stand located in this area, too. Adjacent to the adventure playground, but not accessible from, is another playground for very small children where you can keep an eye on older children playing in the big kid area.
